MonaLisa Touch®

A gentle, hormone-free laser treatment for vaginal atrophy and lichen sclerosus — you don't have to suffer.

Most vaginal changes occur when a woman's health changes with menopause or peri-menopause — whether through natural development, medical problems, treatments, or surgery — often leading to vaginal dryness, burning, painful intercourse, and inflammation. Any one of these can greatly affect comfort and intimacy. You don't have to suffer.

The MonaLisa Touch® laser is a fractional CO2 laser therapy that delivers gentle, modifiable laser energy to the vulva and vaginal wall through small laser channels, stimulating collagen production and the growth of healthy new surface tissue. It is a safe, short, simple in-office procedure. The best candidates are patients with vaginal dryness who have discomfort or pain with intercourse (or with the speculum during exams) and patients with overt atrophic vaginitis or lichen sclerosus.

Careful evaluation comes first

Candidacy matters. Over 20% of patients desiring treatment did not meet candidacy criteria due to other pathology — so Dr. Stepanian places emphasis on careful evaluation. Treatment is performed in a comfortable, relaxing environment using compounded numbing creams so patients are pain-free. Dr. Stepanian performs the treatments herself. The entire treatment takes up to 5 minutes; a mild burning sensation may be experienced for 1–2 days, and creams are provided.

25 Years With Lasers

Experience you can trust

Dr. Stepanian has worked with lasers for 25 years and began using the MonaLisa Touch® laser soon after its early introduction in Europe in 2012.

Most women (about 80 percent) experience symptom relief after just one treatment, with optimal improvement after three treatments performed six to eight weeks apart. An annual touch-up maintains results.

"It is so rewarding to see the joy of 'being' and intimacy restored for women. The MonaLisa Touch laser is just one of the tools we use to support women at such special, transitional times in their lives."
